Practice Information

The Practice is open from 8.30am-6.30pm Monday to Friday.

We offer extended hours on Mondays and Tuesdays until 7.00pm.

When the main health centre doors are closed, access is provided via an intercom system at the main doors.

Please note, that the phone lines are often very busy first thing in the morning – we would appreciate it if you did not ring at this time for issues other than appointment-booking.

When the Surgery is closed, if you phone for advice or a visit your call will be diverted to NHS 111, who will deal with your call. You may be given advice over the phone, visited at home, or asked to attend the out of hours premises:

  • Brisdoc at Bristol Royal Infirmary, Clinic 5, Level 4
  • Brisdoc at Southmead Hospital, Antenatal Clinic
  • Brisdoc at Knowle West Health Park

NHS Bristol is responsible for commissioning out of hours services for patients.

Patients are reminded that they can also use the services of NHS 111 and the NHS Walk In Centres. NHS 111 is a 24 hour telephone service for health advice and information. Tel: 111

You can also visit the NHS Choices website:

NHS Walk-In Centres offer both booked and walk-in appointments, and are open daily (including Bank Holidays and weekends) at:

  • Bristol City Walk-In Centre, Broadmead Medical Centre, Boots, 59 Broadmead, Bristol, BS1 3EA. Telephone: 0117 9549828
  • South Bristol Urgent Care Centre – South Bristol NHS Community Hospital, Urgent Care Centre, Hengrove Promenade, Hengrove, Whitchurch Lane, Bristol, BS14 0DE
    Telephone: 0117 3429692

NHS 111

You can call NHS 111 (Tel: 111) at any time of the day for medical advice. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

The Practice covers the areas of Eastville, Easton, Stapleton, St. Werburghs and Fishponds. A map showing the exact boundary is available for inspection at the Health Centre.
